What Dana now Dana Supported
An existing customer of Dana, now Dana, was looking for an automotive-grade fuel injector driver module capable of driving up to 10 LPG injectors. This customer currently uses a variant of the M220 OpenECU™ low-cost embedded controller to control their LPG tank system. Working in partnership with our customer’s engineering team, it was determined the injector drive functionality could be incorporated as a customized variant of an existing low-cost M220 rapid controls prototyping OpenECU. Due to the addition of 10 injector driver circuits, a full board spin was required resulting in the creation of the M221. All the required LPG tank control functionality was maintained while adding the injector drive capability resulting in a compact, cost-effective custom solution.
In this case, Dana now Dana was contracted to design, develop, validate and supply the module while our customer’s engineering team used the OpenECU embedded controls development platform to develop the control software.
All required LPG tank control functionality was maintained while adding the injector drive capability resulting in a compact, cost-effective custom controller design. The customer is now using a content-reduced custom variant of the M220 OpenECU to control their LPG tank system.
